Day 1: Genesis 1:1
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
Before anything else existed, God was already there. He made the world from nothing, just by speaking, and He made it good.
Ask: What does it tell you about God that He made everything?
Pray: Creator God, thank You for the world You made. Help me take care of it. Amen.
Day 2: Psalm 23:1
“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
A shepherd feeds his sheep, protects them, and finds them when they're lost. Jesus does all of that for you.
Ask: When have you felt God taking care of you?
Pray: Good Shepherd, lead me and keep me close to You. Amen.
Day 3: John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
God loves the whole world, and that includes you. He gave His very best gift, His Son Jesus, so we can live with Him forever.
Ask: Who can you tell about God's love this week?
Pray: Dear God, thank You for giving Jesus for me. Help me share Your love. Amen.
Day 4: Proverbs 3:5
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
Sometimes we don't understand why things happen. God sees everything, so we can trust Him even when we're confused.
Ask: What is something you don't understand that you can trust God with?
Pray: God, help me trust You with my whole heart. Amen.
Day 5: Matthew 19:14
“But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”
The disciples thought Jesus was too busy for kids. Jesus said no, let them come! You are never too small for Jesus.
Ask: How can you come to Jesus today?
Pray: Jesus, thank You that I'm never too small for You. Amen.
Day 6: Philippians 4:6
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
Worry is like carrying a heavy backpack. Prayer is giving that backpack to God, who is strong enough to carry it.
Ask: What is one worry you can give to God?
Pray: Dear God, I give You my worries. Thank You for caring. Amen.
Day 7: Ephesians 6:1
“Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.”
Obeying isn't always fun, but God says it's right. Your parents are God's gift to help and protect you.
Ask: When is it hardest for you to obey?
Pray: God, help me obey my parents with a happy heart. Amen.
Day 8: Joshua 1:9
“Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
Joshua had a big job leading God's people. God didn't say 'You're strong.' He said 'I am with you.' That is where courage comes from.
Ask: What is something brave you need to do?
Pray: Lord, make me brave because You are with me. Amen.
Day 9: Psalm 119:105
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
When you walk in the dark, a flashlight shows you the next step. God's Word shows you how to live, one step at a time.
Ask: What is a Bible story that helps you know what's right?
Pray: God, help me love Your Word. Amen.
Day 10: 1 John 1:9
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Everybody sins, even grown-ups. When we tell God we're sorry, He washes us clean because of Jesus.
Ask: Is there something you need to tell God you're sorry for?
Pray: Jesus, thank You for forgiving me and making me clean. Amen.
Day 11: Matthew 28:20
“Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.”
Before Jesus went to heaven, He gave His friends a job: tell everyone about Me. Then He promised He would always be with them.
Ask: Who can you tell about Jesus?
Pray: Jesus, help me share You with others. Amen.
Day 12: Galatians 5:22-23
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”
Fruit doesn't grow by trying hard. It grows when a branch is connected to the tree. When we stay close to Jesus, the Spirit grows good things in us.
Ask: Which fruit of the Spirit do you want more of?
Pray: Holy Spirit, grow Your fruit in me. Amen.
Day 13: Romans 8:28
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
This verse doesn't say everything is good. It says God works all things together for good, even hard things.
Ask: How might God use something hard in your life?
Pray: God, help me trust You when things are hard. Amen.
Day 14: Psalm 46:1
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
When storms come, people run for shelter. When trouble comes, we can run to God in prayer. He's never far away.
Ask: What do you do when you feel scared?
Pray: Lord, be my safe place and my strength. Amen.
Day 15: Luke 2:52
“And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”
Jesus grew in four ways: in His mind, His body, with God, and with people. God wants you to grow in all of those too.
Ask: Which way do you want to grow most this year?
Pray: Jesus, help me grow in wisdom and love. Amen.
Day 16: Isaiah 40:31
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Everybody gets tired, even superheroes. God gives new strength to those who trust Him.
Ask: When do you feel tired or weak?
Pray: God, give me Your strength when I'm tired. Amen.
Day 17: Colossians 3:13
“Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.”
Forgiving is hard! But Jesus forgave us for everything, so He helps us forgive others too.
Ask: What makes forgiving hard?
Pray: Jesus, thank You for forgiving me. Help me forgive others. Amen.
Day 18: Psalm 139:14
“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”
God made you on purpose, with care. Nobody else is exactly like you.
Ask: What gifts has God given you?
Pray: God, thank You for making me wonderfully. Amen.
Day 19: Micah 6:8
“He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”
God gave us three simple things: do what's right, love being kind, and stay humble with God.
Ask: Which one is easiest for you? Hardest?
Pray: Lord, help me do right, love mercy and walk with You. Amen.
Day 20: Matthew 6:33
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Jesus said not to worry about food and clothes. Seek God first, and He'll take care of what you need.
Ask: What does it look like to put God first?
Pray: Jesus, help me put You first. Amen.
Day 21: Hebrews 13:5
“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
Wanting more and more stuff doesn't make us happy. Having God with us does, and He promises never to leave.
Ask: What do you have that you're thankful for?
Pray: God, help me be happy with what I have. Amen.
Day 22: Romans 3:23-24
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”
Nobody is perfect, not even grown-ups. But Jesus gives us a free gift: He makes us right with God.
Ask: What is a free gift?
Pray: Jesus, thank You for the free gift of grace. Amen.
Day 23: 1 Corinthians 13:4
“Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up.”
'Charity' is an old word for love. Real love waits patiently and doesn't brag.
Ask: When is it hard to be patient with your family?
Pray: Lord, help me be patient and kind. Amen.
Day 24: Deuteronomy 6:6-7
“And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children.”
God told parents to talk about Him all the time: at home, on walks, at bedtime and in the morning. Faith is for every day!
Ask: When does your family talk about God?
Pray: God, help my family talk about You every day. Amen.
Day 25: Lamentations 3:22-23
“It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
Yesterday's mistakes don't have to follow you. God's mercy is new every single morning.
Ask: What can you start fresh today?
Pray: God, thank You for new mercies today. Amen.
Day 26: John 14:6
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Thomas didn't know the way, so Jesus said, 'I am the way.' Jesus Himself is how we get to God.
Ask: What do you think it means that Jesus is the truth?
Pray: Jesus, You are my way, my truth and my life. Amen.
Day 27: Psalm 118:24
“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
Every day is made by God, even boring ones and hard ones. We can find something to be glad about.
Ask: What is something good about today?
Pray: God, help me rejoice in this day. Amen.
Day 28: Matthew 11:28
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Jesus invites tired people to come to Him. He doesn't say 'try harder.' He says 'come.'
Ask: What makes you feel tired inside?
Pray: Jesus, I come to You for rest. Amen.
Day 29: Acts 2:38
“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
On Pentecost, Peter preached about Jesus and thousands were baptized. God gives His gifts to all who come.
Ask: What gifts does God give us?
Pray: Holy Spirit, thank You for coming to us. Amen.
Day 30: Romans 12:12
“Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer.”
Three tips from Paul: be joyful, be patient when things are hard, and keep praying.
Ask: Which of the three do you need most?
Pray: Lord, help me rejoice, be patient and pray. Amen.
Day 31: Revelation 21:4
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain.”
One day God will fix everything sad. No more crying, no more being sick, no more goodbyes.
Ask: What sad thing will God make new?
Pray: God, thank You for the happy ending You promise. Amen.
